Love Letters from them to us: Metronomy!

Music. We Love Music and Love Letters.

Love Letters, or rather musical joy to my ears. On March 10, 2014 Metronomy released their much awaited fourth album and is GOOD.

I recently posted about Coldplay’s next album-to be, Ghost Stories, complaining that, yes, it seems it will be an interesting album, but that I felt there was not enough rhythm. Well, here it is. Here is the rhythm I was looking for.

Metronomy released four albums so far, Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe) in 2006, Nights Out in 2008, The English Riviera in 2011 and few days ago Love Letters.

The English Riviera has been my favourite for quite some time -or rather quite some years- but this Love Letters is really making my ears happy.

So far there are two videos released for the 2nd and 4th song, I’m Aquarius and Love Letters respectively. Obviously like all good bands recently, the video for I’m Aquarius is particularly… erm.. strange. Apparently that’s how it is these days.

Metronomy are an English electronic music band, or rather Indietronic music band, formed in 1999. Cool fact? The name Metronomy was originally chosen by Mount as Metronomy sounded cool and interesting and was in keeping with the bands he was heavily into, namely Autechre and Funkstorung. The word ‘Metronomy’ also linked to a metronome, which is a piece of equipment musicians use to help the beat.

Just because.. here is probably THE song you know from Metronomy! Keep calm and click on repeat.

And for those on this part of the world this summer:

Metronomy at the Open’er Festival in Gdynia (Poland), Tent Stage, Wednesday July 2, 2014.

It’s a date.
